Listen, Act, Transform
I am a seasoned expert working with individuals, youth and families professionally for more than 30 years. I'm a licensed clinical social worker trained in New York City practicing in Massachusetts in family-based therapeutic modalities. In all of my experience, I've come to appreciate that one of the most useful skills for clients to learn and practice is the idea of collaborative problem-solving. This type of problem-solving is a skill that is necessary in relationships but one that becomes increasing difficult when emotions tend to run high. Individuals have their own unique perspectives and needs which creates competing demands that need to be identified so that everyone gets what they need at the time. My work focuses on this process by increasing communication between members so they can learn the skills necessary to resolve interpersonal relationship issues effectively outside of therapy. Most of my clients achieve lasting results in the first 3-6 months of treatment and develop life-long behaviors that increase healthy responses to stress and improve overall resiliency.
